Terms of Use (Web + Mobile App)

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the access and use of Camerise Communities (the “Site”), a private community accessible at https://community.camerisefsl.ca/.

By creating an account or using the Site, you agree to these Terms.


1) Nature of the service

The Site is a private community space allowing members to:

  • exchange via posts, comments, and groups,

  • communicate via private messaging,

  • share resources.

Access is reserved for registered members.


2) Eligibility

By using the Site, you confirm that you:

  • are at least [minimum age] years old,

  • provide accurate information during registration,

  • do not impersonate another person.


3) Account and security

You are responsible for:

  • the confidentiality of your password,

  • any activity performed through your account.

We recommend using a strong and unique password.


4) Rules of conduct (Community Code)

You agree not to publish, send, or share:

  • harassment, bullying, threats, or hate speech

  • discriminatory content (race, religion, gender, orientation, disability, etc.)

  • pornographic, sexually explicit, or exploitative content

  • incitement to violence or self-harm

  • personal information of others without consent (doxxing)

  • illegal content or content facilitating illegal activities

  • spam, unauthorized advertising, or abusive solicitations

  • viruses, malicious scripts, or hacking attempts


5) Respect for member privacy

You agree to:

  • not share another member’s content outside the Site without consent,

  • avoid taking screenshots of private conversations,

  • respect exchanges within closed groups.

⚠️ Any violation may result in sanctions (see section 10).


6) User content and rights

You remain the owner of the content you publish.

By publishing content on the Site, you grant us a non-exclusive license to:

  • display and distribute this content within the Site,

  • store and process it technically,

  • back it up for service continuity reasons.

This license is necessary for the technical operation of the Site.


7) Reporting and moderation

We may moderate the Site in order to:

  • protect members,

  • enforce these Terms,

  • maintain a healthy environment.

Possible actions include:

  • deleting or hiding content,

  • issuing a warning,

  • temporary suspension,

  • permanent account deletion.


8) Groups and private spaces

Certain spaces (groups) may be:

  • public (for members),

  • private,

  • by invitation.

Access and visibility are managed through the Site settings.


9) Limitation of liability

The Site is provided “as is.”

We do not guarantee:

  • the absence of interruptions,

  • the absence of errors,

  • the accuracy of content published by members.

The opinions expressed by members are theirs alone.


10) Account suspension and deletion

We may suspend or delete an account if:

  • the Terms are violated,

  • behavior endangers the community,

  • fraudulent activities are detected,

  • required by law.

You can request the deletion of your account by contacting: info@community.camerisefsl.ca.


11) Intellectual property

All content belonging to Camerise Communities, a project of Glendon College and York University (logo, texts, trademark, design, internal content) may not be copied or reused without written permission.


12) Third-party services

Certain features may depend on third-party services (e.g., emails, integrations).
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services, but we limit their use to what is strictly necessary.


13) Modifications to the Terms

We may modify these Terms.
The update date will be indicated at the top.
Your continued use of the Site after modification constitutes acceptance.


14) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada.
